Jaclyn Sanderson, a first-time Human Resources Intern, shares her experience being a part of 1-800-FLOWERS.COM. Hear her story in her own words:
“Working here at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM this summer is my first Human Resources internship. I am going into my junior year at Marist College in the fall, where I am majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in HR. For the past weeks, I have been involved in multiple projects that involve different aspects of the department. I am currently in the process of setting up a walking challenge throughout the company and its sister-brands in order to promote our wellness program and healthy living.
I have been extremely satisfied with my internship and beyond grateful for the opportunity. It has been an immensely large learning opportunity, intellectually and personally. Not only have I been able to obtain a well-rounded experience of the HR world, but I’ve also been able to be a part of an extremely pleasant work environment. I’ve realized that 1-800-FLOWERS.COM truly caters to its employees and helps them out in any way possible that will better their experiences with the company. The culture and sense of community is very apparent, which I believe is the company’s strongest asset.”
